The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

And Everything Else In Between

Good: New York City Comic Con

Just a quick reminder for anyone in the New York area. The NY Comic Con will be going on this weekend at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center. Despite the name, the convention isn't focused solely on comics but everything in the geek world. The creators of Penny Arcade, Gabe and Tycho, will be holding a Q and A this year as well as a number of gaming companies and film studios. Footage from the upcoming Terminator and Watchmen films will be shown as well as a few game studios bringing down playable builds of a few upcoming titles. Every comic vendor in the area is there selling their stock for dirt cheap so it's a great place to try out new series you generally wouldn't want to risk the full money for. I went last year and had a blast seeing all the stormtroopers and Batmen walking around. Last year we were the first to find out about Tony Stark's cameo in The Incredible Hulk and also some exclusive footage that wasn't seen until the movie came out. And for any gamers that want to add some really cool gaming accessories to their room, a few vendors sell full size replicas of video game weapons that are pretty legit. They were going for a couple hundred dollars but if you've got the money, the Master Sword and Hyrule Shield looked pretty sick. Tickets for a day are about 40 dollars while the weekend passes are 50 so it's pretty cheap for a entire days worth of fun and activities. It's really a great experience and I recommend it so if you're in the area, check it out. Tom, Greg, Dave, and myself will be there Saturday and we'll bring back some details on news to come out as well as some pictures so be sure to check back Sunday afternoon.
